The Role
The Truck Scale Operator is an hourly position responsible for daily ferrous scale operations at C&D Scrap Metal Recyclers, including accurately weighing inbound and outbound loads, communicating with the operation to ensure accuracy in grading and adjustments. The role involves closing out outstanding tickets, ensuring traffic flow, following morning and closing procedures and working at the direction of their direct report. The Truck Scale Attendant reports directly to the Cash Office & Scale Lead.
Responsibilities
· Report directly to and work at the direction of the Cash Office & Scale Lead.
· Accurately weighing inbound and outbound loads
· Communicating with the operation to ensure accuracy in all loads and shipments.
· Communicating with the buying staff on pricing for customer needs as required.
· Overseeing shipping related to scale operations.
· Complying with state and city regulations related to the material and customer processing activities.
· All other responsibilities that may be determined as relevant to the role.
Location & commitments
· Full-time.
· Some travel to satellite locations may be required.
Candidate requirements
· Bilingual is required.
· Customer service skills.
· Detail oriented.
· Computer literacy and familiarity with basic Office programs, including the ability to learn Green Spark software.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $22.00 - $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 36 – 45 per week
