Position Overview

The Product Manager supports the global portfolio growth strategy across our motive markets and aligns with the strategic business objectives. He / She will work across company disciplines (Engineering, Sales, Operations, Finance, and Marketing) to support and execute on the portfolio roadmap and go-to-market strategy to deliver profitable growth and increase revenue. The candidate will be the subject matter expert with a deep understanding of customer needs, purchase motivations, competitive landscape, and technology trends. He / She has a blend of business acumen, strategic oversight and technical knowledge; has a big-picture vision and the inner drive to execute on the vision into reality with Engineering and Commercial teams. He / She would ideally have a background and familiarization with lithium battery technology.

Responsibilities

Product Portfolio Management :

  • Develop integrated market portfolio studies that is fact based to support and define the product strategy by Motive segments.
  • An expert of product management tools, methods, and strategies to develop product roadmaps with go-to-market strategy, backed up with fact-based financial justifications to execute the plan.
  • Perform market assessments to determine the most effective way to differentiate our offering that allows sustained competitive advantage.
  • Execute product life cycle strategies that support company goals and initiatives.

Commercialization :

  • Partner with Sales, Engineering, Marketing, S&OP, and Operations to develop commercialization plans that accelerate market penetration.
  • Track new product performance results and drive countermeasures to meet business targets.
  • Ensures all product initiatives are executed on time, within budget and according to specification and compliance.
  • Manage new product development and key initiatives through internal project management processes.
  • Supports the commercial organization as the liaison between engineering, compliance, finance and operations to enable sales and opportunity development
  • Category Management :

  • Become recognized as a product knowledge expert internally and externally.
  • Continuously refine the product value propositions to extract value, multi-segment positioning and product messaging that aligns and supports sales and marketing awareness.
  • Support portfolio simplification for profit maximization and reduce manufacturing complexity.
  • Manage internal stakeholders regarding product changes, packaging modifications, and introductions.
  • Financials / Business Case Analytics

  • Understand the P&L and work cross-functionally to drive top and bottom-line results.
  • Prepare pro-forma statements of business opportunities that estimate revenue and margin along with commercial risk, technical risk, strategic importance, and resources required to execute.
  • Perform product rationalization, pricing analysis, forecast vs sales, and product contributions.
  • Customer Needs and Competitive Analysis

  • Develop an understanding of how the business creates unique value across targeted customer segments and build knowledge of what drives purchase motivations.
  • Conduct regular industry, market research and competitor analysis supported by direct engagement with sales, channel partners and customers.
  • Lead VoC initiatives along with the primary and secondary market research.
  • Translate customer needs, competitive positioning, and trends into actionable strategic insights.
  • Provide direction for competitive testing and compare competitive offerings.
  • Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or higher.
  • 5 years of technical, commercial or product management experience.
  • Over 1 year of Lithium battery product management or engineering experience.
  • Demonstrated success in B2B Product or BU Management in rapidly growing markets.
  • Hands-on experience with B2B value selling, channel marketing, and branding.
  • Business acumen and experience managing and improving P&L results
  • Problem solver and removes obstacles before they become roadblocks
  • Drive to win, desire to work with customers
  • Result oriented with strong collaboration skills and ability to influence at all levels of the organization
  • Program management ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Global awareness with the ability to interface with diverse international markets
  • Must be able to lawfully work within the US and have unrestricted work authorization for US
