Job Summary

C.E. Floyd Company is seeking an HR Talent and Culture Manager to oversee HR functions in Massachusetts and Connecticut. This role will manage recruitment, training, and employee development, while also ensuring compliance, administering benefits, and leading performance management initiatives to build an engaged and productive workforce.This position requires excellent communication skills and a demonstrated ability to take initiative and work hands-on.


Reporting to the President / CEO, this Concord, MA based position requires five days in-office, with potential flexibility for a four-day in-office/one-day remote schedule.

For more than 30 years, we’ve provided construction management services to carry out collaborative visions for educational, senior living, hospitality, healthcare and commercial markets in the New England area.


How You’ll Make a Difference

Some of your responsibilities will include,

  • Recruitment and Onboarding: Develop and execute recruitment strategies to attract and hire top talent. Manage the entire recruitment lifecycle, partnering with hiring managers to define staffing needs and create detailed job descriptions. Facilitate a positive onboarding experience by conducting new hire orientations and structured follow-up at 3 and 6 months to ensure new hires are successfully integrated and supported.
  • Employee Relations: Manage employee relations by acting as the main resource for resolving workplace issues. This includes addressing conflicts, disciplinary matters, and performance concerns through investigation, guidance, and fair resolution. Additionally, promote a positive and engaged work environment through effective communication.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with all applicable employment laws and regulations, staying up to date with legal changes, and integrating these changes into HR practices and policies. Maintain accurate employee records and documentation.
  • Benefits Administration: Manage employee benefits programs, including health insurance and retirement plans. Communicate benefits information to employees and ensure accurate enrollment and administration.
  • Training and Development: Develop and implement training programs to enhance employee skills and knowledge. Identify training needs and source appropriate training resources. Collaborate with managers to support employee development needs, identify solutions that promote skill development/enhancement.
  • Performance Management: Implement and manage the performance management system, including performance reviews, goal setting, and development plans. Provide guidance to managers on performance management best practices.
  • Policy Development: Develop and update HR policies and procedures that support our purpose to reflect best practices and legal requirements. Communicate policies to employees and ensure consistent application.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, human resources, or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in human resources, including experience in an HR generalist role leading and delivering HR projects.
  • Strong knowledge of federal and state labor laws and regulations.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with HRIS systems and payroll processing is helpful.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • SHRM-CP, SPHR or PHR certification preferred.
