What are the responsibilities and job description for the Estimator position at C & G Energy Services?
Reporting to the Operations Services Manager, the Estimator is a critical member of the Operations team. The Estimator will collect and analyze information to estimate costs of products and services for assigned projects. This role is based in our Midland, TX headquarters office.
Primary Responsibilities
- Analyzing requirement documents, blueprints, and project plans to gain a thorough understanding of the project.
- Determining what factors of production will influence the cost of a service or product.
- Preparing material estimates and cost estimates for the product or service.
- Creating labor estimates for any project.
- Developing and maintaining relationships with company vendors and contractors.
- Managing bids from vendors and contractors.
- Using bid data to prepare a detailed cost analysis.
- Presenting prepared estimates to management and other stakeholders.
- Compiling and recording actual costs.
- Submit and manage one calls (locates) for projects.
- Attend BID walks with perspective clients and field personnel.
- Other assignments as required.
Educational and Experience Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in related field, preferred.
- At least three years of related experience required. Experience in powerline estimating and/or construction preferred; however, experience in electrical estimating would be the perfect package.
- Proficiency in mathematics, statistics, and data analysis.
- Must be a self-starter with a focus on problem solving.
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Report writing and strategic planning skills.
- Familiarity with analyzing requirement data to develop material and cost estimates for large projects.
- Expertise with analytic tools, such as spreadsheets and database managers.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents.
- Excellent written communication and interpersonal skills.
