CG Landscape is looking for a proactive and detail-oriented People & Culture Generalist to support our People & Culture operations and contribute to the development and implementation of various People & Culture programs. In this role, you will be responsible for managing workers’ compensation claims, insurance policies, incident and injury investigations, employee relations, and ensuring compliance with state and federal policies and regulations. Additionally, you will assist in the management of leaves of absence, performance management, safety initiatives, and learning & development programs. The role will serve as a backup for the People & Payroll Generalist.
Essential Functions:
o Provide support in day-to-day P&C functions including employee relations, conflict resolution, and P&C policy enforcement.
o Assist with the management of P&C documentation, including employee files, performance reviews, and disciplinary records.
o Provide guidance and back-up support to employees regarding company policies, benefits, and workplace issues.
Workers’ Compensation Management and Insurances:
o Oversee the management of workers’ compensation claims, ensuring compliance with legal requirements and timely reporting.
o Coordinate with insurance carriers and medical providers to ensure proper care and follow-up for injured employees.
o Maintain detailed records of all workers' compensation cases, work with managers on documentation and assist with return-to-work programs.
o Assist in managing the company’s fleet insurance policies, ensuring comprehensive coverage for vehicles, drivers, and liabilities, in addition to other required business insurances such as general liability, commercial property, workers' compensation, and employer’s liability.
Safety Incident and Injury Investigation:
o Lead and/or assist in investigating workplace incidents and injuries to determine causes, contributing factors, and corrective actions.
o Assist in implementing and maintaining a robust workplace safety program, including regular safety training, hazard assessments, and compliance with OSHA standards
o Document findings, implement safety improvements, and follow up to ensure proper reporting and compliance with OSHA regulations.
Compliance, Employee Handbook & Policies:
o Assist in the development, communication, and enforcement of the employee handbook and P&C policies.
o Provide guidance to management and employees on policy interpretation and implementation.
o Ensure compliance with federal and state labor laws, including FMLA, ADA, OSHA, and other relevant regulations.
o Ensure accurate and timely completion of mandatory reporting, including EEO and 5500.
Leaves of Absence Management:
o Manage and track employee leaves of absence, including FMLA, short-term disability, and other leave types.
o Ensure proper documentation and communication with employees regarding their leave status and return-to-work plans. Coordinate with managers and employees to ensure smooth transitions during leave and upon return.
Performance Management:
o Support the performance management process, including goal setting, performance reviews, and development planning.
o Work with managers to identify training or development needs for employees and recommend appropriate actions.
o Assist with managing performance improvement plans (PIPs) and disciplinary actions as needed.
Learning & Development:
o Support learning and development programs that foster employee growth and skill development.
o Assist in organizing training sessions, workshops, and other learning opportunities for employees.
o Track employee development progress and report on outcomes to leadership.
o Translate P&C documents, policies, and communications as needed for Spanish-speaking employees.
Preferred Education and Experience
· Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
· Minimum of 5 years of experience with payroll systems and People & Culture functions
· Experience with Inova (UKG) payroll platform is highly preferred
· Knowledge and experience in Certified Payroll Reporting and prevailing wage compliance
- Bilingual, Spanish verbal and written
- At least one year of human resource management experience preferred.

- Ability to work independently and collaboratively across teams to address employee needs.
Work Environment
This role is based in an office environment, with occasional visits to other office locations in (Santa Fe Springs, Corona, San Bernardino) for payroll and People & Culture support.
Physical Demands
The physical demands include frequent speaking, listening, and sitting at a desk. Some light lifting (up to 25 lbs) may be required, such as moving office materials and files.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time Exempt position, Monday to Friday, with regular office hours from 8 am to 5 pm.
Salary: $28.00 - $32
