We are a high-end residential construction company seeking a dedicated and experienced AutoCAD Draftsman to join our team. This role is integral to the success of our large-scale residential construction project and demands a detail-oriented, hard-working, and reliable professional.
Job Responsibilities:
- Prepare Detailed Drawings: Create comprehensive architectural designs and plans for buildings, bridges, and other construction projects using AutoCAD and other CAD software.
- CAD Software Expertise: Use computer-aided design (CAD) tools to develop and modify project drawings, ensuring they meet required specifications.
- Collaboration: Work closely with construction teams to gather project requirements and ensure designs align with construction needs.
- Industry Standards Compliance: Ensure all drawings adhere to industry codes, standards, and regulations, ensuring high quality and accuracy.
- Revisions & Adjustments: Revise layouts and drawings based on feedback or changes to project scope, ensuring all adjustments are accurately represented.
- Material Quantities & Calculations: Calculate and document dimensions, weights, and quantities of materials required for the project.
- Site Visits: Conduct site visits to collect data, verify conditions, and ensure designs are in line with real-world constraints and site-specific requirements.
- Documentation Support: Assist in preparing schedules and documentation to support project timelines and client communication.
- Review & Quality Control: Review technical documents and codes to ensure all designs meet necessary standards and specifications.
- Client Interaction: Communicate with clients and stakeholders to confirm project details and ensure all specifications are met.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Educational Background: Associate's degree or diploma in drafting, engineering, architecture, or a related field.
- CAD Software Proficiency: Strong proficiency in AutoCAD (2D and 3D) is a must. Familiarity with Revit and Navisworks is preferred.
- Advanced Tools Knowledge: Knowledge of PROCORE is a plus, as well as experience with Leica 360 scans, imports, and conversions.
- Technical Expertise: Strong understanding of engineering and architectural principles with the ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
- Problem Solving & Attention to Detail: Excellent problem-solving abilities and high attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in all technical drawings.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members, clients, and stakeholders.
- Industry Knowledge: Knowledge of construction codes, standards, and materials, with a basic understanding of construction processes.
- Time Management: Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines effectively.
- Continuous Learning: Willingness to continually update skills and knowledge through training and professional development opportunities.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with construction documentation and material specifications.
- Experience with site visits and data gathering.
- Understanding of engineering and architectural project timelines and schedules.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 7:30am to 4:30pm.
Salary based on experience.
Must pass a Drug Screen and a Background Check.
Must have references.
