SUMMARY DESCRIPTION
Under general supervision, the Therapeutic Behavioral Services (TBS) Coach provides one-to-one therapeutic behavior services for children, adolescents, and young adults (as dictated by State and/or local legislation). TBS Coach performs other related duties, as required. This classification is characterized by the execution of various cognitive behavioral interventions under the supervision of a licensed mental health clinician at various locations, such as the home or school of the person served. This position requires effective communication skills, time management skills, documentation skills (writing/typing), and teaching skills. Ideal candidates are able to work independently according to prescribed protocols and directives. This is a part-time position without guaranteed hours.
EXAMPLE OF ESSENTIAL DUTIES
1) Provide one-to-one clinical interventions and collaboration as required.
2) Provide support life services as detailed in the treatment plan and directed by the case supervisor.
3) Secure all required signatures upon inception of TBS services.
4) Complete individualized progress notes and required documents in a thorough and timely manner.
5) Respond to critical situations in professional manner.
6) Make attempts to intervene before a crisis develops with a child.
7) Keep track of billable time to reconcile with hours worked.
8) Ensure all entries in charts are accurate, complete, and timely.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
-Bachelor's Degree in psychology, social work, or related field.
-Completion of at least two years of work directly related to mental health or psychiatric services, preferred. Years of school work toward a completed degree from a regionally accredited college or university may be substituted for work experience. A valid California driver's license, reliable transportation, and evidence of automobile insurance, are required.
PRE-EMPLOYMENT
All employment offers are contingent upon successful completion of both a physical exam that may include a drug/alcohol test and a criminal background investigation that involves fingerprinting.
