What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Teacher - Summer Staff - UWRF CHILD Center position at C.H.I.L.D. Center?
Come join a supportive and welcoming environment! The UWRF CHILD Center is looking for individuals who can work between 20-40hrs a week for the summer beginning as soon as May 11th. Assistant Teachers work under the guidance of classroom lead teachers and support the learning and development of the children in the center. We care for children between the ages of 6 weeks - 5 years. If you love to play with kids and enjoy building relationships with others, this job is for you!
Duties
Care for the safety and wellbeing of the children in the classroom.
Assist in creating a welcoming environment for all children and their families.
Provide positive guidance to help children develop independence and self-regulation.
Help with general classroom tasks.
Assist the lead teacher in communicating with families.
Work cooperatively with other staff across the program to ensure consistency for the children.
Requirements
Must be at least 17 years.
Physically able to lift 50 pounds.
Ability to communicate effectively with children, parents and other staff.
Willingness to learn new things.
Must be able to pass a DCF required background check before working with children.
Nice To Haves
Experience working with young children
Completion of 2 credits in early childhood education, non-credit department-approved non-credit course, OR assistant teacher training program
CPR Certification

Monthly bonus award money up to $450 while employed.
