Key Responsibilities:
As an Experienced Heavy Duty / Diesel Technician, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of diesel engines and vehicle systems. Your duties will include:
- Consulting with customers and reading work orders to determine necessary repairs.
- Developing work plans based on diagnostic assessments.
- Running diagnostic tests and offering solutions for engine and system issues.
- Inspecting and repairing vehicle systems including suspensions, steering, and exhaust.
- Repairing or replacing transmissions, brakes, engines, and related components.
- Conducting field visits for emergency or breakdown service calls.
- Test driving vehicles to assess repair quality and performance.
- Performing regular maintenance tasks such as oil changes, wheel balancing, and brake inspections.
- Maintaining accurate records of parts inventory and serviced vehicles.
Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, you should possess:
- Advanced knowledge of diesel engines, vehicle electrical systems, and diesel components.
- Experience with diesel engine diagnostic software and tools.
- Strong mechanical and electrical problem-solving skills.
- Keen attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
- Ability to use power tools and mechanical equipment confidently.
- Basic computer literacy and familiarity with modern diagnostic equipment.
- A valid driver’s license.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
