What We Are Looking
We are seeking an Entry-Level Junior Estimator to join our Preconstruction Department in Charlotte, NC. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented and motivated individual looking to grow their career in construction estimating. The Junior Estimator will assist in preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for a variety of projects, working closely with the Preconstruction Manager, Director of Preconstruction and other team members.

Key Job Responsibilities
- Assist in preparing quantity take-offs and cost estimates for multifamily and mixed-use construction projects.
- Analyze drawings, designs, specifications, and other documents to understand project scope and requirements.
- Request and review subcontractor and supplier quotes to ensure accuracy and competitiveness.
- Collaborate with the preconstruction team to identify potential cost-saving opportunities, value engineering options, and project risks.
- Tracks project bid status, upcoming project opportunities, follow up on proposal submissions.
- Maintain and update estimating databases, historical cost data, and bid tracking information.
- Participate in bid reviews, sub meetings, and project planning discussions.
- Support the development of preliminary budgets and conceptual estimates.
- Assist in preparing bid proposals and related documentation.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field preferred.
- Strong analytical and mathematical skills with attention to detail.
- Experience in multifamily construction
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook);
- Experience with construction management/preconstruction software: Procore and Bluebeam
- Understanding of constructability, delivery models, and construction document management.
- Scheduling & Cost Management: Skilled in timeline management, from initial project planning through execution.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
