SUMMARY
Repairs and maintains machinery and mechanical equipment such as engines, motors, pneumatic tools, and production machines and equipment by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Other duties may be assigned.
Maintenance:
*Troubleshoots and repairs equipment problems as directed by Supervisor.
*Alerts Maintenance Manager and/or Group Leader to potential problems with equipment or repair.
*Installs new equipment, electrical service, and piping systems.
*Completes preventative maintenance requirements.
*Works in safe, orderly manner; keeps all work sites clean using good 5S practices.
* Uses protective equipment as required.
*Continuously improves skills and learns repair procedures on new equipment.
*Drives company truck to pick up parts, materials and to plow parking lot.
SKILLS:
High School Diploma or general education degree (GED) or technical school and/or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Required to keep informed of new technologies.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as blueprints, schematics, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to communicate with internal customers in a clear and concise manner.
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
Must have valid drivers license.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands and fingers to handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel or crouch. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.
WORK ENVIRONMENT While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently works near moving mechanical parts. The employee occasionally works in outside weather conditions and is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
