What are the responsibilities and job description for the Heavy Equipment Operator position at C.J. Moyna & Sons, LLC.?
Job Activities: Operating, maneuvering, and navigating equipment out on jobsites. Will be using hands and arms in positioning shifters, switches, and steering. Will be performing general physical actives that will require use of arms and legs and moving the whole body, such as climbing, lifting, and walking.
Will have to watch the gauges, dump box, and outside surroundings to get information.
Skills:
· Must know how the dump box works (which shifters to push/pull) to dump the material.
· Must know how to back the haul truck up to get loaded by the excavator in different situations. Will have good hand, eye and foot coordination and reaction time to identify and adjust the machine to keep working in different surroundings.
· Will keep accurate count of loads and the type of material hauled.
Strength Demands of Job:
· Sedentary: 1-10 lbs. occasionally, negligible weight frequently.
· Lifting with both hands: must lift your bodyweight at least 24 inches to get into the haul truck.
· Pushing/Pulling with both hands: less than 20 lbs.
· Gripping/Grasping with both hands: consistently using less than 10 lbs. to operate the equipment and cb radios.
· Fine Finger Movement with both hands: consistently using less than 10 lbs. to operate the equipment and cb radios.
· Movement: Occasionally walking and standing around equipment. Constantly sitting in and driving the equipment. Rarely crawling underneath to assess the equipment.
· Thoracic/Lumbar Spine: Flexion, Extension and lateral flexion often occurs as a reaction to the jarring effect of traveling on uneven ground. Rotation can also occur as a result of the jarring but often time occurs when trying to change line of sight.
· Cervical Spine: Flexion occurs while looking down at the ground in front of the equipment. Lateral flexion and extension often occurs as a reaction to the jarring effect of traveling on uneven ground. Rotation can also occur as a result of the jarring but often time occurs when trying to change line of sight.
· Shoulder: Above shoulder and chest to shoulder level occurs when reaching up to pull themselves into the equipment. Constantly at waist to chest level, rested on the arm rests, while driving.
· Elbow/Forearm/Wrist: Actions occur while operating the equipment.
· Hip/Knee/Ankle/Foot: Occasionally climbing in and out of the equipment, with a maximum step height of approximately 24 inches. Occasionally crouching to inspect the equipment. Constantly utilizing the foot pedals to operate the equipment.
· Sensory: Hearing, speech, near vision and far vision.
Environmental Conditions: Will be working in or exposed to hot, cold, outdoor, indoor, dry, humid, noise, vibration, glare, moving objects, working at heights, slippery surfaces, congested areas, sharp edges, and may be exposed to fumes/vapor.
Must be willing to work 12.5 hours per day (weather permitting), Monday thru Friday and part days on Saturday. Will Train.
