What are the responsibilities and job description for the Checker position at C&K Market Inc.?

Provides exceptional customer service greeting every customer with a positive attitude and a friendly smile, operates point of sale system accepts various methods of payment and creates change, scans merchandise effectively utilizing barcodes, scales and/or PLU codes accurately, occasionally assists customers to their vehicle with their purchase, bags merchandise effectively to ensure products are not damaged and bags will not tear
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Uses fingers, hands, arms, and legs for moving/selling merchandise
- Frequently lifts/carries/pushes/pulls merchandise weighing 1-20 lbs, occasionally 50 lbs
- Use a 10 key, and basic math
- Continuous standing and walking throughout scheduled shifts
- Answers phone calls and uses intercom
- Stocks merchandise to shelf
- Collectively organizes and cleans stock rooms, restrooms, coolers, freezers, sales floor, and point of sale areas to maintain a safe and pleasant working/shopping experience
- Willingness to work various shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays
