Basic Function
The Preventative Maintenance (PM) Technician is responsible for completing (PM) services on construction equipment while creating and maintaining relationships with the service team and customers, meeting quality standards and efficiency, performing all levels of preventative maintenance and inspections on equipment.
Critical Roles
- Perform all levels of services/oil changes/valve adjustment on various types of construction equipment.
- Follows all safety rules and regulations in performing work assignments.
- Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe work area and appearance.
- Operate company vehicle to provide service work in the field and maintain company vehicle.
- Effectively communicate the status of repairs to your manager and customers.
- Accountable and responsible for complete and thorough documentation for billable time and assigned work order service reports.
- Responsible for maintaining parts used/returned and bulk oil used.
- Perform all other duties as assigned by management in a professional and efficient manner.
Qualifications
Special Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Experience performing maintenance using special tools and equipment following Technical Manual procedures to complete services on machines.
- Experience operating vehicles, tools, and equipment for diagnostic purposes
- Experience with basic computer functions
- Ability working cooperatively in a team environment.
- Ability communicating effectively verbally and in writing.
- Must have an adequate toolset to perform job responsibilities.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and move up to 75 pounds regularly.
- Frequently required to sit, stand, and walk for an extensive amount of time.
- Ability to move or hold arms and hands in small areas, while utilizing tools, feeling for objects for an extensive amount of time.
- Ability to use tools that vibrate for an extensive amount of time.
- Ability to climb up and down equipment.
- Ability to work in extreme weather/temperature conditions.
Education and Experience Required
- Any technician experience a plus, heavy equipment service experience is preferred.
- High School Diploma, GED or equivalent experience required: college education preferred.
- Applicant must pass a physical drug screening and possess a valid driver’s license.
