The scope of the proposed services will include the following :
Meet with staff to determine the scope of a project
Advise on strategies to reach a particular audience
Determine the message the design should portray
Create images that identify a product or convey a message
Develop graphics for logos and websites
Select colors, images, text style, and layout
Present the design to customer
Incorporate changes recommended by the customer into the final design
Review designs for errors before printing or publishing them
Ensure that coding standards are met; optimizing the web architectures for navigability and accessibility
Requirements
Expertise and / or relevant experience in the following areas are mandatory : (if applicable)
Experience in software development or 2 years of experience in graphic design
Experience effectively executing against brand guidelines and maintaining brand standards, including demonstrating considered layout, image composition, typography and color palette
Experience designing externally facing information and graphics in a visually appealing way
Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and animation)
Available to work from Baton Rouge, LA on a regular basis
Expertise and / or relevant experience in the following areas are desirable but not mandatory :
Ability to effectively edit and augment written and visual elements of program content
Experience translating technical concepts into straightforward visual designs
Experience aligning web development applications with technical programming
Familiarity with Craft CMS architecture
Experience building user interfaces for websites and / or web applications
Application of specialized skills within a government agency environment
