Our client’s Chicago office is hiring two Billing Specialists to manage monthly billing cycles for a portfolio of shareholders. These roles involve ensuring accurate and timely client invoices, collaborating with attorneys and accounting teams, and implementing process improvements. Key duties include reviewing attorney hours and disbursements, editing proformas, applying retainer funds, processing write-offs, and handling complex billing matters. The specialists will also manage split billing credit allocations, WIP follow-ups, and rate updates in the 3E System, along with generating and analyzing billing reports. Additional responsibilities include maintaining billing files, assisting with court documentation, and participating in special projects.
Ideal candidates should have at least three years of law firm billing experience, a strong grasp of billing software (Elite or 3E), and proficiency in Microsoft Office. A bachelor’s degree is preferred, along with knowledge of e-billing platforms and AR processes. The role demands excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills, the ability to handle sensitive information, and the capacity to work under strict deadlines. The salary range is $72,000–$82,000, and occasional overtime may be required during fiscal and calendar year-end periods.
