Our client’s Chicago office seeks a Real Estate Paralegal to support its Real Estate group with commercial real estate transactions. The role involves working closely with attorneys, clients, vendors, and opposing counsel on complex deals involving purchasers, sellers, lenders, and borrowers. Key responsibilities include title and survey review, drafting and managing closing documentation, creating and maintaining due diligence checklists, preparing UCC financing statements, and handling closing and post-closing matters. The paralegal will also liaise with title companies and surveyors, draft closing instructions, and ensure compliance with transaction contracts and title requirements.
The role requires strong research, writing, multitasking, and organizational skills, with the ability to work independently under pressure on time-sensitive projects. Candidates should have at least eight years of relevant experience, preferably in commercial real estate, and familiarity with finance transactions is a plus. A bachelor's degree and an ABA-approved paralegal certificate are strongly preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, is essential. The position includes a 1,500 billable hour target and offers a salary range of $80,000–$130,000, with flexibility for overtime. Attention to detail and the ability to manage deadlines are critical to success in this role.
