Our client’s Chicago office is seeking a Senior Billing Specialist to manage the monthly billing cycles for a portfolio of shareholders. This role involves issuing accurate and timely client invoices, collaborating with attorneys, department managers, and clients to address billing inquiries, and implementing process improvements. Key responsibilities include reviewing and processing attorney hours and disbursements, editing proformas, applying retainer funds, executing complex bills, managing WIP and AR assignments, updating rates, and handling split billing credit allocations. The specialist will also mentor junior billing staff, create billing reports, assist with court documentation, and oversee special projects.
Candidates should possess strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment. A bachelor’s degree is preferred, along with a minimum of five years of billing experience in a law firm.
