Job Summary:
As the direct result of continued growth, a small & respected HVAC & Plumbing Engineering firm located in Logan, Utah, is currently in need of adding an additional Mechanical Engineer to their team. We are looking for someone to use their skill set and knowledge of Mechanical and specifically, HVAC/Plumbing Engineering to provide valuable design and construction administration.
We are seeking committed a designer that is motivated to improve and enhance our operations and workflow. Work will include the design of commercial, governmental, and industrial HVAC and Plumbing projects. Previous design work and International Mechanical & Plumbing code knowledge will be an advantage.

Responsibilities:
- Meet with clients to evaluate goals, cost, preliminary strategies and design development decisions.
- Load Calculations for HVAC design in conjunction with equipment selection and building placement and configurations.
- Perform mass energy balance calculations.
- Plumbing drainage / fixture calculations and design for new and replacement building infrastructure.
- Plumbing Fixture Selection.
- Create permitting / construction documents for commercial construction projects.
- Coordinated with Architectural, Structural, Electrical, and Civil and other external and internal professional designers to compile documents for contractor bidding.
- Construction administration and support including meetings for Owner/architect/contractor coordination.
- Enhance current C-MECH Engineering procedures, methodologies, and policies in coordination with Project Engineers, designers, and drafting technicians.
Job Details:
- Work with Architects, Building Owners/maintenance Personnel, and other consulting engineers of varied building for Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning, and plumbing system designs among other relative divisions.
- Operate computer-assisted design (CAD) and drafting workstations.
- Develop and prepare building documents in conjunction with Drafting technician(s).
- Complete documentation packages under the direction of Project Engineer/Principal Engineer.
- Check and verify design drawings to conform to specifications and design data.
- Write technical reports, RFI responses, Supplemental Instructions.
- Prepare and tender documents.
- Prepare construction specifications, costs, and material estimates.
Schedule:
- Full time (in-office): Monday through Friday
- Flexible during 8:00 AM – 5:30 PM business day (30-40 hours per week)
Education:
- Completion of a 4-year ABET accredited Engineering program (bachelor’s degree) in engineering.
Experience and requirements:
- Strong Technical writing skills.
- Travel to customer project sites for review, audit, and meetings, estimated 10%-20%.
- CAD Design experience: 3-6 Years REVIT/Autocad (Preferred)
- HVAC/Plumbing Design: 1-2 Years (Preferred)
- Previous employment at MEP design or contracting firm (preferred)
- FE/EIT Certificate (Required)
- Ability to Relocate: Logan UT 84321: Relocate before starting work (Required)

Compensation:
- Range: Base Total annual Salary minimum = $67,000. Dependent on experience
