This is an hourly position with variable hours depending on the season. During non-harvest periods, hours may alternate between 5 x 8 or 4 x 10 shifts as determined by the supervisor. Harvest hours can range from 40-60 hours per week, with flexibility to accommodate seasonal or project-based needs, including weekends and shift work.

The Harvest Laboratory Technician plays a crucial role in ensuring the quality and consistency of our wines. This position requires a detail-oriented and analytical individual who can work effectively in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities
- Sample juice and wine from tanks and barrels for analysis
- Set up and calibrate laboratory equipment as needed
- Perform routine wine analysis, including pH, TA, VA, ALC, FTSO2, MA, RS, BX, NOPA, AM, heat and cold stability, color, and phenolics
- Fulfill Quality Control Lab personnel duties as needed to maintain bottling line quality
- Swab tanks and equipment for sanitation purposes
- Handle sanitation materials, SO2 solution, fining materials, and other related tasks
- Participate in special projects and trials as required by management
- Monitor Brix and temperature levels
- Manage library wine inventory
- Promptly record and report data
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science degree in Enology, Fermentation Science, Chemistry, Biology, or equivalent experience in a winery laboratory
- Proficiency in MS Office, with experience with Winemaker's Database preferred
- Able to manage cellar equipment, wet and cold working environments, standing for long periods, occasional use of ladders and catwalks, rough flooring, and exposure to common wine additives and products with proper protective gear
