JOB SUMMARY
The Crewmember role will travel to all job sites performing pavement maintenance, this role will perform tasks involving sealing pavement cracks, applying surface treatments and pavement markings on parking lots, roadways and airports. This role will run and operate several different types of equipment and oversee maintaining and taking care of the equipment. The projects that Crewmembers will be doing will primarily be prevailing wage jobs.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES [TRAVEL, SUPERVISORY EXPECTATION, ETC.]
- Report to Foreman and Crew Leaders for day-to-day tasks and duties
- Clean and seal cracks and joints in asphalt and concrete
- Apply sealers on asphalt and concrete surfaces, conduct asphalt and concrete patching, saw cut and seal cracks and joints
- Occasional traffic control on different projects
- Routine preventative maintenance on equipment used for all jobs
- Job trades include pavement marking and marking removal, crack sealing, fog sealing, joint sawing and sealing, repair onasphalt / concrete on airports, highways, freeways, roads, and parking lots
- Knowledge of construction industry processes and standards
- Communication, active listening and speaking skills
- Ability to diagnose problems and apply problem-solving skills
- Attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to adapt and be flexible
- Ability to effectively lead and manage job sites
- Minimum of 1 year experience in pavement construction
- Required to learn business trades, equipment, regulations, traffic control and all other aspects of pavement construction
- Driver’s License Required
- Travel required 100% of the time; will have the option to travel with other team members in company-owned vehicles from Cedar City, UT to project site [WA, CA, OR, ID, MT, NV, UT, WY and other states]
- Work hours vary depending on the project and location of the project but 40 hours; typically Sunday-Friday
- Employee will be responsible for their own food and travel expenses
- Seasonal, hourly work that is typically March-November but can vary depending on weather
- General labor work
- Paid weekly; base compensation paid if job is not subject to prevailing wage
