Job Description:
As an AC (asphalt cement) Tanker Operator, you will play a crucial role in the efficient and safe transportation of liquid ac from distribution facilities to plant sites. This position requires a valid CDL, tanker endorsement, hazmat endorsement, a successful completion of a DOT physical and drug screening, and a clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR). The ideal candidate will have prior highway civil construction experience, be willing to travel within the state, and demonstrate exceptional punctuality and commitment to safety.
Key Responsibilities:
- Pre/Post Trip Inspections: Conduct thorough pre and post-trip inspections of the AC tanker, ensuring that the vehicle is in optimal condition for transportation.
- Material Transport: Receive liquid ac from distribution facility and deliver to plant site, adhering to predetermined schedules.
- Safe Unloading: Safely unload liquid ac material into the into tank farm, ensuring efficient and precise distribution.
- Task Frequency: Perform material unloading tasks 2-3 times a day, maintaining a high level of safety and accuracy.
- Tool Safety: Understand and adhere to basic hand tool safety protocols while performing job duties.
- Communication Skills: Possess excellent listening and communication skills to effectively coordinate with plant personnel, site supervisors, and other team members.
- Compliance: Strictly adhere to the company's safety standards and protocols, ensuring a secure working environment for yourself and others.
Qualifications:
- Valid CDL with appropriate endorsements.
- Successful completion of DOT physical and drug screening.
- Clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).
- Previous experience in highway civil construction (preferred).
- Willingness to travel within the state.
- Punctual and reliable.
- Basic hand tool safety knowledge.
- Excellent communication and listening skills.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Regular physical effort, including standing and walking, is required during a regular shift.
- Able to stoop, bend, reach with hands and arms, crouch, and kneel as required for the tanker's operation and/or maintenance.
- Possess the ability to withstand long periods of sitting when driving.
- Work with hands to operate the truck controls.
- Must have the ability to carry and lift 50 pounds.
- Maintain alertness to the motion and activities of people and other equipment on the construction site.
- Will be required to walk on uneven surfaces on the job site frequently.
- Must be able to climb in and out of the equipment safely.
- Will be required to work in varying weather conditions and environments, including hot or cold temperatures and dusty, wet, noisy, etc.
- Will be required to work on job sites close to live lanes of traffic.
