As our Lead T-Visa Attorney, you will manage a caseload of T-Visa petitions and other immigration matters while leading a dedicated team and collaborating with multidisciplinary professionals. This is your chance to step into a leadership role, mentor junior attorneys, and influence policy efforts to support human trafficking survivors.
What You’ll Do:
✨ Case Management: Oversee a high-volume caseload of T-Visa applications, including preparation, filing, follow-up, and appeals, ensuring each case receives the highest level of legal care. ✨ Client Advocacy: Provide expert legal counsel to human trafficking survivors, ensuring their rights are upheld and their path to legal status is secured. ✨ Leadership & Mentorship: Lead, guide, and mentor a team of immigration attorneys and support staff, helping them develop their skills and grow professionally. ✨ Court & Agency Representation: Represent clients in administrative hearings, USCIS interviews, and appeals before Immigration Court and the Board of Immigration Appeals (BIA). ✨ Legal Compliance: Stay informed on the latest immigration laws, policies, and procedures related to T-Visas and trafficking victims, ensuring the firm’s practices remain compliant. ✨ Outreach & Advocacy: Engage in community outreach, public education, and policy advocacy efforts related to human trafficking and available immigration relief for victims. ✨ Record Maintenance: Maintain meticulous, up-to-date case records, ensuring compliance with firm and regulatory standards.
What You’ll Bring:
✅ Juris Doctor (JD) Degree and active bar membership in any state or jurisdiction. ✅ 5 Years of Experience in immigration law, particularly in T-Visa applications, U-Visas, and relief for victims of crime. ✅ Expert Knowledge of Human Trafficking Laws: A deep understanding of the intersection between immigration relief and criminal justice for trafficking victims. ✅ Leadership Experience: Proven ability to lead a team of attorneys and support staff while providing strategic case guidance. ✅ Fluency in Spanish: Essential for working effectively with our diverse client base. ✅ Trauma-Informed Legal Practices: Experience working with survivors of trauma, ensuring compassionate and effective legal representation. ✅ Strong Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication with clients, colleagues, and external stakeholders. ✅ Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to think critically, develop creative solutions, and navigate complex legal issues.
