Construction Superintendent – Greater Philadelphia Area
We are seeking to employ a Construction Superintendent who has experience, supervising large commercial and institutional project sites in the Greater Philadelphia area. Custom Home experience a plus.
C. Raymond Davis & Sons, Inc. is a family owned and operated General Contractor-Construction Manager that has been continuously active in construction since 1928. Our primary focus centers on the institutional markets consisting of private schools, churches, and retirement communities. We are also active in the commercial markets consisting of medical and veterinary clinics, banks, and office spaces. CRD has also gained a national reputation in the custom home market. We have offices in Kimberton, PA., Princeton, NJ., and Bolton Landing, NY. In this exciting role, your responsibilities will be:
- Supervise all on-site construction, including scheduling subcontractors, resolving day-to-day problems on the job site, and inspecting all work during construction to ensure compliance with plans and specifications.
- Direct the work flow consistent with the project schedule and assign tasks in a proper sequence so that work is completed safely, and efficiently.
- Coordinate with the Project Manager to set up and monitor the construction schedule.
- Work well with all people on the construction team, and supervise multiple crews on multiple project sites.
- Establish and maintain good relations with Owners; proactively communicating deadlines, expectations and critical issues with clients and have a clear understanding of the contractual obligations between C. Raymond Davis and our clients.
- Attention to detail and daily monitoring of work in progress to ensure completeness and that the work measures up with C. Raymond Davis’ quality standards.
- Read and interpret construction drawings and shall be familiar with building codes and standards.
- Manage the punch list and closeout process through owner/architect acceptance.
- Daily reporting of job progress, deficiencies, and issues that arise.
- Coordinate and arrange for permits and required inspections as work progresses.
- Maintain good working relationships with all subcontractors on the project, ensure subcontractors are treated fairly, and develop relationships within the community which enhances business opportunities.
- Take responsibility to ensure a safe and injury-free work site. Promote safe work habits and recognize hazardous working conditions and correct them immediately. Assist with incident reporting and completion of required reports.
- Collaborate with the Project Manager on the creation and execution of a project specific Project Close-out Plan.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 4 years as a Construction Superintendent
- Experience overseeing construction projects budgeted from $2-10 million plus; Custom home experience a plus.
- Position may include working outside of normal working hours as necessary.
- Ability to travel to construction sites as needed to oversee crew and projects, 50 % travel.
- Must be willing to work in a construction environment that includes: potential exposure to dust, noise, toxic materials, waste materials, as well as working in inclement weather conditions.
- Demonstrated experience working with MS Project & Office Suite to include Word, Excel, and Outlook.
