We're seeking an experienced Traveling Construction Project Superintendent for industrial projects in Massena, NY. The successful candidate will oversee trades and manage daily site activities effectively. This individual must possess the knowledge, experience, and confidence to engage with design professionals, consultants, and clients while directing sub-contractors and other construction personnel safely and efficiently.
Position Responsibilities
- Assist in preparing project schedules
- Review project plans and specifications, commenting on building design, scheduling, and potential construction issues
- Control day-to-day site activities
- Complete required daily project field documentation
- Maintain good relations and communication with all project stakeholders
- Contact, schedule, and coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and utilities
- Monitor and maintain the project construction schedule weekly
- Conduct weekly subcontractor & safety meetings
- Inform the Project Manager of any errors, discrepancies, or omissions in design drawings
- Maintain a safe job site and ensure Occupational Health and Safety Act requirements are enforced
- Coordinate and direct independent testing and inspections as needed
- Maintain and enforce good construction standards and quality control to ensure contract document compliance
- Ensure as-built drawings are prepared during the construction period
- Coordinate municipal inspections
- Prepare and expedite project deficiency lists
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment on the project site
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Minimum 10 years of experience as a construction superintendent or lead construction projects in the field
- College or university degree
- Strong ability to read and interpret plans and specs
- Understanding of construction terms, scheduling, and planning concepts
- Proficient in Microsoft Project, Word, and Excel
- Procore project management software prior experience a plus
- Excellent organizational, presentation, and interpersonal skills
- Understanding of the importance of safety and quality on job sites
Estimated Compensation Range: $140,000 - $175,000/year
Actual compensation may vary based on related work experience, geographical location, market conditions, education/training, certifications, and other credentials, as well as applicable knowledge and skills.
