We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate companion to enrich the lives of an elderly couple in our community. Responsibilities:
- Light household tasks include meal preparation and running errands.
- Dishwashing the client's dishes and utensils.
- Dusting and vacuuming the rooms used by the client.
- Tidying and wet mopping the kitchen and bathroom to ensure a clean and sanitary area.
- Disposing of the client's garbage at the end of each shift
- Toileting activities
- Personal grooming
- Participate in activities that the client enjoys.
- Engage in meaningful conversations and provide emotional support
- Accompany the client on outings, walks, or to medical appointments as needed.
- Personal assistance such as but not limited to taking notes, making copies/scans, and assisting with phone calls, emails, etc.
- Be attentive to the client's needs, ensuring their safety and comfort at all times.
- Performing fingerstick and glucometer readings
Requirements:
- Demonstrated empathy and understanding for the elderly population.
- Excellent verbal and written communication
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Patience and the ability to handle various challenges that may arise.
- Flexibility to adapt to the couple's schedule and preferences.
- Physical capability to assist with light tasks and mobility support.
- Reliable and trustworthy with a clear background check.
- Previous experience as a companion or caregiver
- Criminal Background Check and References
