Job Summary

The Department of Radiology is seeking candidates for a Research Area Specialist Intermediate position to work in clinical research related to nuclear medicine imaging and dosimetry. This includes industry and NIH-funded projects with dose escalation trials and combination therapy with internal radiation and external beam radiotherapy. The Research Area Specialist will work with Dr. Yuni Dewaraja's group in Nuclear Medicine and will also have the opportunity to work with collaborators in Radiology, Radiation Oncology and Engineering.

Responsibilities*

The Candidate Will

  • Gather patient data, supervises data collection and verification for clinical research protocols
  • Develop code for data processing, analysis
  • Contribute to patient recruitment and preparation of regulatory documents
  • Perform patient specific dosimetry calculations and analysis for clinical research
  • Contribute to experimental measurements in the nuclear medicine clinic for research
  • Summarize, interpret, and present findings in written, tabular, and visual formats for reports, manuscripts, and presentations. Opportunity to present at conferences and submit manuscripts for publication.

Required Qualifications*

Intermediate: Bachelor's Degree is required medical physics or related physical sciences or engineering discipline and 4-5 years of experience in a related field. Good computer programming skills and physics background.

Associate: Bachelor's Degree is required medical physics or related physical sciences or engineering discipline and 1-3 years of experience in a related field. Good computer programming skills and physics background.

Underfill Statement: This position may be underfilled at a lower classification depending on the qualifications of the selected candidate.

Desired Qualifications*

Master's degree in medical physics or related physical sciences or engineering discipline.

Background Screening

Michigan Medicine conducts background screening and pre-employment drug testing on job candidates upon acceptance of a contingent job offer and may use a third party administrator to conduct background screenings. Pre-employment drug testing applies to all selected candidates, including new or additional faculty and staff appointments, as well as transfers from other U-M campuses.
