Job Description
- Evaluate children with speech, language, voice, and cognitive-communicative disorders.
- Design and implement treatment programs to facilitate improved communication skills.
- Counsel patients and their families regarding communication development, impairment and opportunities for stimulating improvement.
- Treatment of children enrolled in the STEPS Autism Treatment program, including data management and development of programming materials, documentation of clinical findings, adhering to regulatory agency and insurance requirements
- Provide documentation of evaluation data, test/re-test data and speech-language progress, in accordance with insurance and regulatory agency requirements.
- Maintain departmental and institutional standards of clinical productivity.
- Provide patients and families with recommendations and referrals to appropriate health care sources.
- Provide assistance to medical and rehabilitation team members regarding methods for facilitating a patient's understanding and use of language to achieve maximum understanding of medical information and rehabilitation techniques.
- Participate in staff meetings regarding individual patients with physicians, nurses, insurance representative and allied health professionals.

- A Certificate of Clinical Competence, awarded by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) is required
- Current licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist in the State of Michigan is necessary

- Excellent communication skills, verbal and written
