As the Supervisor, Design and Composition you will be responsible for managing the graphic design production process supporting the weekly promotional marketing program of the company's owned, franchised, and independent grocery retailers. The Supervisor, Design and Composition ensure the efficient creation, execution, and distribution of print and digital marketing materials, with prime responsibility for the development of the weekly ad or circular. The Supervisor, Design and Composition will lead a team of internal and external graphic designers and collaborate with Merchandising, Operations, vendors, and IT to optimize processes and maintain high-quality design standards. The Supervisor, Design and Composition will be accountable for ensuring the on-time and error-free production and distribution of weekly promotional materials is a top priority, alongside optimizing the efficiency and effectiveness of design production processes. The Supervisor, Design and Composition will manage retailer satisfaction, and engagement with marketing materials are essential, achieved through adherence to brand standards across all assets. Cost-effectiveness plays a key role in managing design and production expenses while delivering high-quality materials. Additionally, a commitment to continuous process improvement and the successful implementation of new technologies helps drive innovation and operational excellence while delivering cost-saving measures to the organization.

  • Oversee the production of weekly promotional materials across print and digital formats, ensuring brand consistency. Manage circular design for multiple retailers while maintaining accuracy and timely delivery. Streamline operational processes to meet deadlines and budget targets. Ensure compliance with internal policies, industry standards, and marketing regulations. Supervise signage creation, support design teams, coordinate promotional distribution, and collaborate with retailers to enhance customer engagement.

  • Collaborate with merchandising and retailer operations teams to align marketing support with promotional strategies. Serve as a key point of contact for owned, franchise, and independent operators regarding their promotional marketing needs. Ensure cross-functional teams adhere to timelines during the development of the promotional marketing programs. Foster collaboration to swiftly resolve any issues or conflicts that may arise along the way. Proactively identify and resolve process breakdowns and bottlenecks to effectively tackle challenges as they arise.

  • Lead and develop a dynamic team comprising both internal and agency talent to design and execute the weekly promotional marketing program in alignment with retailers' commercial calendars, ensuring efficiency, accuracy, and punctuality. Foster a culture of high performance and engagement within the team through strong leadership and clear, impactful communication. Inspire, mentor, and empower team members to continuously enhance their skills and contribute to operational excellence.

  • Strong understanding of technology that supports weekly promotional marketing.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects with tight deadlines in a dynamic environment.

  • Exceptional process management and problem-solving skills.

  • Travel up to 10% as needed

Years Of Experience

  • 2-5: 2 - 5 years of experience in retail and grocery marketing, with expertise in print and digital ad execution or marketing operations.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree - Graphic Design & Media Arts
