Guardrail Foreman / Supervisor
Heavy Civil, Florida-based contractor
Required Experience and Abilities:
- Experience in erect, install, or repairs of guardrail, road shoulders, berms, highway markers, warning signals, and highway lighting, using hand tools and power tools.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, project specifications, and construction documents.
- Experience operating a post pounder.
- Organizational and time management abilities to prioritize tasks and meet project deadlines.
- Experience with new bridge construction including pilings and all phases of bridge rehabilitation. Is a plus but not required.
- Leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide a team effectively
- Functional understanding of cost control and budget constraints
- Familiarity with safety regulations and practices in the construction industry in order to conduct Safety Meetings and uphold Safety Program.
- Computer literate
- Self directed with the ability to solicit advice when needed
- Willingness to work “hands-on” with crews
- Willingness to Work Flexible Hours. Occasional out-of-town work may be required, should be available to work overtime & some weekends if needed
- Willingness to Travel Florida (Statewide)
- Prefer the applicant have a CDL Class A license but require a valid driver's license with a clean driving record (no tickets, wrecks, or suspensions in the past three years).
Job Description includes but is not limited to:
- Work alongside crew, this position is physically demanding with considerable time spent standing, walking, bending and heavy lifting.
- Perform precision work in high temperatures and very close to traffic at times.
- Oversee daily construction activities and ensure compliance with safety regulations, including OSHA standards.
- Supervise and mentor crew members, fostering a collaborative work environment.
- Transports crew and equipment to work sites operating large trucks and specialized motor vehicles and trailers.
- Erect, install, or repair guardrail
- Prepare daily field reports
- Review blueprints and schematics to ensure quality control and adherence to project specifications.
- Work flexible and extensively to meet business needs.
