Overview
Responsible for the overall safety and operational effectiveness of the Beasley Rd warehouse yard operations. Effectively manage direct reports to meet all safety and operational objectives including overall inventory accuracy while maintaining a safe and secure work environment. Responsible for managing/monitoring the productivity, safety and work assignments of the personnel assigned to the Beasley Rd Warehouse and yard operations.
Responsibilities
- Cross-train and develop skills of staff. Hire, train, and give timely performance feedback to all employees
- Responsible for managing inventory levels and accuracy through timely completion of all required cycle counts.
- Establish a complete yard/warehouse layout scheme that includes bar coding and bin locations both physically and systemically within the Oracle data operating system.
- Manage internal movement of all goods used to support multi Business units supported by the Beasley Rd. facility. Facilitate changes to the internal movement of inventory as needed and ensure the timely processing/recording of all transfers shipped and received in oracle.
- Ensure fulfillment, warehouse and distribution personnel follow established procedures to ensure quality shipping and receiving while achieving maximum productivity and maintaining a safe and secure work environment.
- Draft and maintain accurate and written process documentation (including safety) for the yard operations segment associated with the Beasley Rd warehouse location.
- Manage the overall condition and appearance of the warehouse and grounds in compliance with the company’s standards.
- Ensure all deliveries/shipments are conducted in a safe and timely manner while observing all DOT rules and regulations.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- REQUIRED:
- Formal forklift training and certification required.
- A minimum of five years experience in warehouse operations and/or inventory control, safety and distribution management is required.
- PREFERRED
- Two-year degree in warehouse operations or related field preferred.
- A minimum of 3 years experience leading a workforce of five or more employees is strongly preferred.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORKING CONDITIONS: Must be able to travel to other locations within the area. Must be able to lift 40lbs., bend, stoop, and crawl, have finger/wrist/arm mobility, and finger dexterity. Schedule includes some evenings and Saturdays.
