Position Summary :
To provide assistance to the project team in the administration and management of many of the activities which are associated with the construction project. The position may involve rotating field and office assignments of all phases of construction on a variety of complex projects.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to :
Management Skills
Ensure the timely delivery to the jobsite of all project equipment and materials (procurement).Attend project meetings. Prepare and distribute weekly meeting minutes.Assist with the preparation, distribution and maintenance of schedules.Submit and track outstanding Requests for Information (RFIs) and expedite return responses using Viewpoint. Communicate timely responses to the project team.Assist in the evaluation of field problems and documentation of RFIs.Follow up and document punch list work status.Interpersonal Skills
Establish and maintain positive and effective working relationships with all (client, architect, subcontractors, project team, various CWD Departments).Promote CWD "Values" with the project team, client and subcontractors.Motivate and contribute to the teamwork / morale in the project team.Technical Skills
Review, coordinate and transmit Submittals.Write, track and communicate resolution on all Requests for Information (RFI).Track potential costs items that will aid in the preparation of Change Order Requests.Verify original estimate quantities, report quantities in place and maintain labor cost report.Assist in the documentation of punch list work.Assist in the review and enforcement of safety processes.Administrative Skills
Prepare and maintain Submittal, RFI, Procurement and other logs using Viewpoint.Compile contract close out documents (O&M manuals, As-Builts, etc.).Assist in the preparation and maintenance of the Material Tracking Log.Prepare and distribute meeting minutes.Update and maintain all sets of drawings, specifications, and logs. Ensure that all subcontractors receive documents relative to their contracted work.Assist in mock-up and field testing.Set up and maintain project filing system.Requirements
Qualifications Required :
Four-year degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture or equivalent experience in a related field.Proficiency in basic computer skills (MS Word, Excel, Outlook).Basic familiarity with Viewpoint, P6, Prolog or other CMS applications.Understanding of construction administration processes, including construction documents, schedules, RFIs, submittals and material procurement.Excellent presentation, verbal and written communication skills.Time Management- strong project management skills and ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment.Key Competencies :

Performance of the required duties will require physical ability to climb permanent and temporary stairs, passenger use of construction personnel hoists, ability to climb ladders and negotiate work areas under construction. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Performing this job requires use of hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls, sit, talk and hear, stand, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

Work Environment :
While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works on-site at the construction work site where the employee is exposed to moving mechanical parts, high precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, outside weather conditions and risk of electrical shock. The noise in these work environments is usually moderate to very loud.
