Reinsurance Accountant - Property & Casualty Insurance

EXCELLENT opportunity to join a growing Reinsurance Accounting Team! Individual will analyze and process monthly/quarterly treaty reinsurance accounts, including reconciling broker invoices to supporting documentation
Review premium and loss bordereaux to ensure compliance with treaty terms and to identify large loss activity. Document and resolve account or cash issues. Follow-up for missing account statements and information. Assist in the preparation of Financial Statements (US GAAP and US Statutory). Assist in quarterly and annual regulatory compliance for filings with the various state departments of insurances, NAIC and Bermuda Monetary Authority. Participate in monthly, quarterly and annual close processes.
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required. Two years of experience. Insurance industry experience preferred, but not required. Excellent organizational skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel with experience in using formulas, pivot tables and charts. Ability to learn new tasks and skills quickly; comfortable asking questions and verifying information and requirements. Ability to initiate continuous improvements to enhance processes or products. Ability to effectively share and communicate perspectives on information. Ability to undertake multiple assignments and achieve results independently.
