Franciscan Health Crown Point 12750 S Francis Dr Crown Point, Indiana 46307 The CLINICAL IMAGING SPECIALIST for Imaging will guide and monitor the regulatory, quality, educational, and best practice for Imaging Services. The position assists in the orientation and continuing education of all imaging staff and the implementation of all policies and procedures for imaging modalities. The CLINICAL IMAGING SPECIALIST will work in step with the radiation safety officer to ensure compliance and distribution of radiation safety badges for staff as well as perform annual lead verification and tracking. This role will be responsible for maintaining department dashboards for patient safety and quality initiatives and working directly with leadership to move goals forward. The position will be the document owner for all imaging policies, guidelines, and procedures working directly with the imaging leadership team to ensure regulatory requirements are met and best practices are followed. WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT Acts as a liaison between the hospital and university program related to clinical activities serves as Clinical Preceptor for Associate Radiography students Facilitates onboarding for clinical students Promotes and aids in orientation, annual competencies, and staff development to ensure high-quality patient care Engages staff and leadership to meet organizational requirements and initiatives Participates in HCEC to ensure imaging staff are meeting hospital education standards Facilitates and encourages change management to ensure that new equipment and therapies are appropriately adopted and used. Promotes radiation safety best practices through participation on Radiation Safety Committee Facilitates dosimeter program through dosimeter distribution, ALARA tracking and Annual Form 5 distribution Maintains protective apparel documentation per ACHC guidelines Serves as the document owner and main author of imaging policies, procedures, & guidelines. Ensure policies, procedures and guidelines are using evidence-based practice standards in accordance with ACR and ARRT. Maintains imaging department dashboards, serves as ACHC SME for imaging, participates on following committees: FHCID Radiology Department Council, Radiology PCC, Procedural Patient Safety, FHCID Quality Council, Stroke Certification Steering Committee, Patient Safety. Researches and offers evidence-based solutions to improve quality and patient safety. Engages with other departments, leaders and staff to implement changes. IServes as the legal custodian of imaging records when requested for legal purposes Qualifications Required Bachelor's Degree in Radiology Preferred Master's Degree in Health Administration 1 year Clinical Education Preferred 5 years Clinical Imaging-any modality Required American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Certification - .
