Entity Medical University Hospital Authority (MUHA) Worker Type Employee Worker Sub-Type Regular Cost Center CC001533 LAN - Plant Operation & Maintenance (LMC) Pay Rate Type Salary Pay Grade Health-33 Scheduled Weekly Hours 40 Work Shift Day (United States of America) Job Description Under the general administrative direction of the Chief Operating Officer (COO) and direct support of the System Chief Facilities Officer, provides leadership and direct oversight for Facilities Operations and Maintenance staff, ensuring that mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems and all other equipment are functioning effectively and efficiently, and in compliance with all life safety, fire safety, CMS, DHEC, NFPA, and other regulatory requirements and codes. This role ensures all corrective and preventative maintenance are completed accurately and in a timely fashion, and that all related documentation is maintained in accordance with hospital and regulatory standards. This position responds to and addresses all utilities and life safety disruptions in a timely manner and communicates all outages and/or repair delays in a professional, timely manner to the affected areas and organizational leadership. This position provides supervision for the safety security officer, groundskeeper, and departmental clerical staff. Experience Required: Seven years of healthcare engineering/maintenance experience, five of which supervisory level or higher equivalent work experience. Familiarity with Emergency Management Accreditation Program Standards. Computer skill proficiency in MS office applications; Word, Power Point and Excel. Additional Job Description Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Electrical or Engineering Technology required, or equivalent work experience of ten years directly related management/supervisory experience in healthcare maintenance and an Associates Degree in Applied Science. Required Licensure, Certifications: Valid Driver’s License; Certified Healthcare Facility Manager (CHFM) certification is preferred.
