The Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) reports to the assigned operational leader. • The primary responsibilities will be to evaluate, plan, direct, document, and administer programs of athletic training & rehabilitation. • Documents athletic training encounters completely and in a timely manner (day of or within 24 hours) in the electronic records system. • Works closely with other disciplines and specialties within the health system to ensure highly coordinated care. • Communicates professionally & effectively with physicians, other clinical staff and leadership. • As a MUSC Health brand ambassador, develops trust with the coaching staff, Athletic Directors, student-athletes and parents through effective communication and coordinated high-quality care. • Works closely with the Sports Medicine Coordinator (ATC) to coordinate the athlete's schedule, treatment programs, and recommends solutions for the athlete’s healthcare problems. • Conducts athlete intake assessments and maintains medical records for all athletes in our electronic medical record. • Attends annual conferences and MUSC Health staff meetings. • Performs clerical tasks such as assisting with budgets, restocking supplies and maintaining inventory. • Other duties as assigned. Additional Job Description Education: Graduate of an accredited college with a BS/BA. (Masters degree in Athletic Training preferred). Licenses/Certificates: Certification by the National Athletic Trainers Association Graduate of an accredited college with a BS/BA. (Masters degree in Athletic Training preferred). Certification by the Board of Certification for Athletic Trainers(BOC). Certified as an Athletic Trainer in South Carolina by DHEC.
