Job Description Summary Coordinates practice resources to ensure optimization and efficient utilization of all staff and resources. Promotes effective operations through project management and/or performance improvement. Works closely with Ambulatory and Cardiology leadership to ensure cooperation, teamwork, and harmony among all functional areas. KRZYSTON'S OFFICE) Pay Rate Type Salary Pay Grade Health-29 Scheduled Weekly Hours 40 Work Shift Job Description Work Environment: Primarily in office setting and patient care areas. There is some exposure to infectious disease. Must be able to drive and must hold a valid driver’s license in the State of South Carolina. Supervisory Responsibilities: Cardiology service clinical staff. Financial Responsibilities: None. Essential Functions: Provides oversight to cardiology clinical staff, including recruitment, scheduling, activity assignment, and performance management. Performs clinical practice rounds. Ensures medication room compliance and performs routine check for expired drugs sample drug closet. Routinely performs chart reviews to audit and ensure appropriate documentation practices. Manages the supply chain for practices; orders, approves, and maintains appropriate par levels. Ensures labs provided in the practices meet appropriate guidelines. Maintains preventive maintenance of medical devices and performs yearly review of operating condition. Ensures staff compliance with Emergency Response, Patient Safety, licensing and CPR certifications. Ensures exam rooms are maintained. Performs skills assessment for clinical staff. Acts as liaison between MUSC Infection Control Committee for Cardiology service. Attends in service meetings and share educational information and material with staff regarding MUSC guidelines that apply to cardiology practices. Coordinates Peer Interviewing processes for clinical staff. Assists in the development of policies and procedures as needed. Ensures practices meet Joint Commission, OSHA, CLIA, and other regulatory agency standards related to patient and staff health and safety. Assists with clinical staff annual evaluations. Participates in Community Service with MUSC and other physician practices. Performs other duties as assigned. Physical Requirements: Physical requirements are primarily related to the essential functions of any job. In order to perform the essential functions of this position, you must be able to stand, walk sit, use hands, stoop, talk, and hear. Must be able to lift or exert energy up to 10 pounds 75% of the time and 25 pounds 25% of the time. Close vision distance or clear vision at 20 ft. or more and the ability to observe an area that can be seen to move up and down or left and right. Mental Requirements: Read, analyze and interpret complex scientific, clinical or business journals, financial reports or legal documents. Able to respond to sensitive inquiries or complaints from guests, regulatory agencies, staff and members of the business community. Has the ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to deal with concrete and abstract concepts and interpret verbal, nonverbal and written instructions. Age Groups: This position primarily interacts with adolescents, adults and aging adults, and does not provide direct patient care. All staff members must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skill necessary to meet the physical, psycho/social, educational, safety, and related needs of the persons in the assigned work area. Additional Job Description Minimum Qualifications: Licensed Registered Nurse in the state of South Carolina and five years clinical experience in a physician practice. OR Licensed Practical Nurse in the state of South Carolina, seven years clinical experience in a physician practice. OR Certified Medical Assistant with ten years of experience in a physician practice.
