Pharmacy Resolution Center Specialist

Franciscan Health Munster Campus 701 Superior Ave Munster, Indiana 46321 A BRIEF OVERVIEW The Pharmacy Resolution Center Specialists shall report directly to the Pharmacy Resolution Center Manager. Working in accordance with the FPN Medication Refill Protocol Policy, the specialist primarily performs the duties of reviewing medication refill requests, collecting patient data from the electronic medical record, preparing medication refills under conditions outlined by the protocols, processing medication prior authorizations and contacting patients to schedule clinic visits or communicate medication refill and prior authorization information. Other required department operational responsibilities include, but are not limited to, communicating with retail pharmacies, health insurance companies, drug companies, and/or physician offices to facilitate medication refills, prior authorizations and approvals or denials. Open availability is required. In the absence of the Manager, the specialist will report to the person designated by the Manager. ONE DAY IS ONSITE AT FRANCISCAN MUNSTER ADMINISTRATION BUILDING. WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT Service Excellence Ensure physician practices, patients, pharmacies, and insurance companies have a friendly and positive experience. Assist in the resolution of physician practice and/or patient issues and concerns promptly and satisfactorily. Refill and Prior Authorization Management Assist in the review and management of medication refill requests and prior authorizations. Collect pertinent patient data from the electronic medical record as outlined by department Policies and Procedures for the purposes of medication refill management and prior authorization completion. Enter information into the electronic medical record as required for the management of medication refill requests and prior authorizations. Assist in the dissemination of pertinent information to physician practices, patients, pharmacies and insurance companies regarding medication refills and prior authorizations. Assist in scheduling patient clinic visits, as appropriate, as outlined by department Policies and Procedures. Performance Improvement Contribute to the assessment and improvement to the department's operational efficiencies Equipment Maintenance Assist with the maintenance of the department's equipment. Perform required cleaning of any department equipment. Recordkeeping Know the requirements for the storage and disposal of records in accordance with Federal, State and Local laws. Ensure that any documents containing PHI are stored and disposed of confidentially and securely. EPIC Utilizes EPIC to access patient medication orders and profiles, process refill requests with documentation in the medical record, provide needed information, and resolves problems.
