Job Description Summary MUSC Community Physicians (MCP) is an entity within the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) that provides healthcare to patients within the rural health network throughout the state of South Carolina. The HR Manager (MCP) is responsible for overseeing and managing key HR functions within MUSC Community Physicians, including pay & timekeeping for staff and providers, HRIS (Workday), talent acquisition for staff positions, strategic initiatives and benefits administration. This role ensures the efficiency, accuracy, and compliance of HR operations in alignment with organizational goals and healthcare regulations. The HR Manager plays a critical leadership role in coordinating these functions to ensure operational excellence and continuous improvement. This role ensures the efficiency, accuracy, and compliance of HR operations in alignment with organizational goals and healthcare regulations. The HR Manager plays a critical leadership role in coordinating these functions to ensure operational excellence and continuous improvement. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Leads and manages a team of 10 HR professionals within MCP's Human Resources department Pay & Timekeeping: Ensuring accurate compensation, deductions, and compliance with applicable laws and contractual agreements. HRIS Management (Workday): Manage and optimize HRIS systems (Workday), ensuring efficient data management, reporting, and system functionality for HR operations. Talent Acquisition: Oversee staff recruitment efforts, working with hiring managers to develop and implement recruitment strategies that meet workforce needs. Benefits Administration: Manage the benefits programs for staff and providers, ensuring comprehensive coverage and compliance with relevant laws (e.g., ACA, FMLA). Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process enhancements in pay & timekeeping, HRIS, talent acquisition, and benefits administration to drive operational efficiencies and reduce administrative burden. Data Analytics: Use HR analytics and reporting to monitor workforce trends, identify potential issues, and support decision-making in HR operations. Qualifications & Experience Minimum 10 years of HR experience, with at least 5 years of progressive leadership experience in HR operations, preferably in a healthcare setting. Master's degree preferred, bachelor's degree required. SHRM-CP/SCP or PHR preferred. Strong background in pay & timekeeping administration for both staff and providers, including compliance with healthcare-specific pay regulations. Extensive experience managing HRIS systems, with a preference for Workday. Expertise in healthcare-specific HR compliance, including understanding of laws and regulations such as ACA, HIPAA, and FMLA. Proven leadership experience, with the ability to manage multiple HR functions and coordinate efforts across teams. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. For every 100 additional pounds, assistance will be required from another healthcare worker. 20 lbs. of force are needed to push a 400 lb. patient in a wheelchair on carpet. 25 lbs. of force are required to push a stretcher with a patient with one hand. Ability to maintain 20/40 vision, corrected, in one eye or with both eyes. (Continuous) Ability to see and recognize objects close at hand or at a distance. (Continuous) Ability to match or discriminate between colors. (Continuous) Ability to determine distance/relationship between objects; depth perception.
