Overview
Summary
The Benefits Manager is a highly energetic professional responsible for C1’s employee benefits platform with a “roll-up your sleeves” approach to ensure team members’ satisfaction. The position focuses on all aspects of benefits (i.e., implementation, analysis, administration, vendor management, compliance, as well as tactful and effective communication and interaction with C1’s team members at all levels throughout the organization). This role also focuses on HR/Benefits technology, including system implementation, maintenance, and continued improvements.
Responsibilities
Essential Functions
- Manages the full administration and analysis of C1’s comprehensive benefits offering (i.e., Health and Welfare Benefits, Retirement Savings, Leave Program)
- Owns the entire annual open enrollment process, including communication, system configuration, coordination with brokers/vendors
- Ensures compliance with all applicable regulations related to employee benefits (e.g., ERISA, COBRA, HIPAA, FMLA, IRC Section 125, ACA, etc.)
- Participates in regular evaluation of benefits offerings and plans to ensure competitiveness, including vendor renewal/selections
- Recommends benefits offerings and updates to ensure C1’s team members’ needs are satisfied
- Manages the audits and regulatory filings of various benefits plans (e.g., 401(k) annual audit, non-discrimination testing, Form 5500, ACA)
- Manages the relationship with various benefits vendors (e.g., Benefits Brokers, HRIS, TPAs, Plan co-fiduciaries, etc.)
- Manages leave and disability programs, including STD/LTD, and FMLA as well as other applicable leaves required by local regulations based on team members’ geographic location
- Creates & distributes effective benefits communication to C1 team members
- Conducts due diligence analysis as it relates to benefits during potential acquisitions
- Leads and participates in continuous improvement processes to improvement efficiencies, reduce cost and improve team members’ experience
- Manages direct reports to ensure effective coaching and team performance
- Partners with HR team members (e.g., Payroll, HRIS, HRBPs)
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Business or equivalent
- 8 years’ experience in employee benefits management and administration (Health & Welfare Benefits and retirement savings)
- 3 years supervisory/management experience
- 8 years’ experience working with vendors (e.g., Benefits Brokers, Third-Party Administrators, and Benefit Auditors)
- Deadline driven (able to prioritize and delivery projects timely) in a fast-paced environment
Desired/Preferred Qualifications
- Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS), PHR or SPHR
- Medical Plan Reference Based Pricing (RBP)
- Previous ADP technology experience
- Previous experience with mergers/acquisitions as it relates to benefits integrations
- Previous experience in global benefits design/compliance

Pay Range
$110,000 - $140,000
Base pay ranges are estimated. Actual base pay will be based on education, experience, location, certifications, skill set, and any other relevant factors. Incentive/variable pay opportunities are in addition to base pay.
