As a Project Designer at our firm, you will work under the guidance of a supervising Project Manager, Associate, and / or Principal in charge. You will be involved in various aspects of project development, from generating conceptual ideas to preparing comprehensive construction document packages. We encourage and support the enhancement of your graphic and technical abilities to achieve excellence in your work.
Key Responsibilities :
1. Creative Collaboration : Brainstorm project design concepts and collaborate effectively with the project team to shape the direction of each project.
2. Technical Proficiency : Develop proficiency in AutoCAD and other relevant computer programs essential for landscape architecture design.
3. Consultant Coordination : Coordinate with external consultants to ensure seamless integration of various disciplines into the project.
4. Research and Development : Conduct research to gather product information, design images, and construction methods that contribute to innovative and sustainable project solutions.
5. Construction Observation : Participate in construction observation activities to gain valuable insights into the practical implementation of design concepts.
6. Construction Document Preparation : Acquire a comprehensive understanding of how construction document packages are prepared, maintaining a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
7. Design and Detailing : Take ownership of preliminary design through design development and construction document phases, collaborating closely with the Project Manager and Job Captain.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in landscape architecture, graphic design, architecture, or a related field.
- Expertise with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign), AutoCAD, Sketch-Up, and Microsoft Office.
- 1-3 years of experience in producing conceptual / schematic design presentations and documentation sets.
- Strong verbal and visual communication skills.
- High capacity to learn new tools and emerging technologies.
- Ability to be creative and technical with a strong attention to detail.
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a collaborative team environment.
- Applicant needs to have initiative and be self-directed.
Compensation
The annual salary for this position starts at $60,000 per year. We offer a comprehensive benefit plan that includes medical, dental, prescription, life insurance, long‐term disability insurance, Flexible Spending Account, and both a Traditional and Roth 401(k) account. We also provide a generous vacation plan, sick time, paid holidays, and half-day Fridays.
