What are the responsibilities and job description for the Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) position at C2 Essentials?
The Licensed Professional Counselor is responsible to meet with patients, analyze their mental health status, and develop a course of therapy to address their issues. This role will work with patients who have substance abuse issues, depression, anxiety, or a mix of other complex issues. The Licensed Professional Counselor should have some experience with a wide variety of patients and conditions.

Age of Patient Population Served : Adolescents and Adults (12 & older)
Population Served : Persons meeting DSM5 criteria for substance use disorders with or without cooccurring psychiatric illness

ESSENTIAL DUTIES ANDRESPONSIBILITIES
1. Meets with patients to determine their status
2. Develops a course of therapy for treatment
3. Meets with patients regularly and provide them with the tools they need to overcome their issues
4. Provides references to other healthcare providers as needed
5. Ensures compliance with all behavioral health protocols
6. Ensures the utmost of care in protecting the confidentiality of client records in accordance with state and federal laws
7. Keeps abreast of all pertinent federal, state and facility regulations, laws, and policies as they presently exist and as they change or are modified
8. Performs other duties and tasks as required for Wellness and Recovery
MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS
Education, Training, and Experience Required :
1. Master's Degree in Psychology, Social Work, or a similar field
2. State Counseling License in good standing
3. A minimum of 3 years of clinical experience
4. Experience and / or training in crisis intervention desirable
5. Knowledge of the mental health / substance use disorder recovery process and the ability to facilitate stabilization using established standardized mental health processes
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities :
1. Professional readiness : Issues related to self-awareness, diversity, ethics, ad continuing education
2. Skill in providing counseling / talk therapy in accordance with established standard of care; customer service and support skills
3. Ability to successfully counsel patients to improve mental and behavioral health
4. Work with physicians, mid-levels, and other members of medical care teams to evaluate and develop comprehensive patient care plans
5. Knowledge of PC software programs, particularly Microsoft Word and Excel is required
6. Written and oral communication skills; must be able to concentrate on work amid distractions such as noise, conversations, and foot traffic
7. Interact professionally and appropriately with persons from diverse cultural, socioeconomic, educational, ethnic, and professional backgrounds
8. Ability to work quickly and in a potentially high-stress environment
9. Ability to work effectively in a multi-disciplinary team
10. Reading and writing level that can clearly express or understand complex concepts, assessments, directions and processes or sequences of events - level equivalent to at least two years of college
11. Ability to represent the program well in interactions both inside and outside the facility
12. Working knowledge of (American Society of Addiction Medicine) ASAM criteria
