Summary
C2 Strategic Communications, one of the region’s largest public relations firms, is seeking a Staff Strategist to join our growing firm. Based in Louisville and with offices in Lexington, KY and Indianapolis, IN., our 30-person firm serves clients and projects throughout Kentucky and Indiana.
The ideal candidate will have a passion for storytelling and enjoy working in a collaborative, creative environment. This person will work in C2’s Transportation, Tourism and Bourbon segments supporting diverse infrastructure clients and projects. This position will be based in Louisville.

Essential duties and responsibilities
Help develop and implement communications plans, including objectives, strategies, tactics and budgets to meet client needs and reach target audiencesIdentify key deliverables and manage the process to achieve them, using exceptional organizational and relationship skillsManage time effectively and efficiently and meet work deadlinesDevelop and write news releases, newsletters, web content, speeches, talking points, presentations, other collateral marketing materials, social media posts, proposals, etc.Plan and organize media availabilities, news conferences, public meetings and professional conferencesProduce monthly performance reports for clientsManage social media accountsCollaborate with other staff members to sharpen deliverables and identify new client strategiesStay abreast of emerging technology and communications trends and recognize opportunities to apply them to meet client needsAssist with business development : direct pitches, proposal writing, presentations, etc.Participate in annual strategic planning for the companyTrack weekly hours worked and reimbursable expenses incurred on a timely basis for effective project management and timely billingPerform other duties as assigned by managementSkills / attributes
Required :
Strong written and oral communications skills – in particular, the ability to write descriptively and quickly, in a tone that matches client needs – is paramountAttention to detail and accuracyAbility to interact with and gain the trust of current and prospective clientsAbility to think strategically and creativelyAbility to proactively solve problemsAdept at collaborating, multi-tasking and meeting deadlinesExperience in communicating with media and the publicAbility to plan events, news conferences and public meetingsCompetent in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel and OutlookExperienced using social-media platforms such as LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter and Instagram to engage targeted audiencesPreferred :
Working knowledge of MailChimp and / or Constant Contact to produce newslettersExperience using Cision or other media-monitoring serviceExperience using content-management systems such as WordPressExperience using Adobe Creative products : Photoshop, InDesign, Premiere, and / or IllustratorEducation / experience
