What are the responsibilities and job description for the CDL Driver position at C4 Advanced Tactical Systems?
Job Summary
The driver will drive the company truck back and forth between C4's two warehouse locations. There will be a time when the driver will be dispatched to a local vendor to drop off parts or to pick up parts. (Local vendors will be less than two hours away) These goods and commodities may include many types of products such as electronic components, machine parts and or assemblies and packaging materials.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Drive Company Truck
Loading and Unloading items onto the truck
Secure items for safe travel
Get Fuel in truck as needed and checking essential fluid levels.
Make suggestions for any service the truck may need.
Will work with warehouse manager on what items will be moved first.
Will pull items off current pallets and make new pallets for transportation as needed.
Ensure that all loads in the truck are safe and sound be starting transportation of items.
Will have to pallet and box count when picking up items at a vendor location to insure we have picked up the correct pallets and boxes.
Driver will perform a pre-check inspection at start of every day.
Keeps truck clean and neat.
Will work in other duties as assigned by Warehouse Manager
Qualifications
Must have class B driver's license with air brakes on it or better.
Must have a clean driving record and be able to be insured by the company for driving the truck.
Past experience with driving a box truck.
Ability to read, understand and follow safety procedures.
Demonstrated ability to follow oral and written instructions.
Ability to respect deadlines and to efficiently interrelate with other workers.
Must have excellent workmanship skills.
Must have VERY high attention to detail.
Meets passing requirements to obtain a Security clearance.
Must be adaptive to a high-volume production environment and integrate as an active team member with a positive can do attitude.
Education and / or Experience
Minimum of 3 years truck driving experience
Basic Employment Requirements
Excellent communication skills, self-motivated, capable of multitasking.
Ability to interpret various forms of assembly documentation.
Must be focused and have high attention to detail.
Must be able to work over-time as needed.
Must be authorized to work in the US and be eligible to obtain a passport.
Must pass Security background screening process.
Ability to handle materials safely and lift up to 50 lbs.
