What are the responsibilities and job description for the Leadership Camp Counselor and Instructors position at C5 Georgia Youth Foundation?
This isn't your typical summer gig. Ignite the potential in young leaders and level up your own leadership skills! As a Youth Leadership Counselor, You'll work with middle or high school students at our residential camp, leading activities, facilitating discussions, and providing personalized feedback. Gain real-world experience in youth development, live in cabins with your group, share meals, and explore the outdoors together on multi-day camping and hiking adventures. RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead by Example: Embody the qualities of the leader we aim our youth to become by demonstrating responsibility, integrity, and a positive attitude.
- Facilitate Growth: Guide campers through a structured leadership development process using C5 Youth Foundation curriculum outlines and workbooks.
- 24/7 Supervision: Be a constant presence, supervising youth around the clock, with breaks and time-off scheduled for both the campers and yourself.
- Active Engagement: Dive into all aspects of the experience, from backcountry travel and discussions to planning meetings and adventure opportunities. Your energy and involvement are key to fostering a dynamic learning environment.
- Individual Coaching: Provide personalized coaching to campers throughout the session, connecting their planning and adventure experiences to essential leadership concepts.
- Compliance Champion: Ensure strict adherence to all C5 standards for programs, including meticulous supervision of youth and adherence to transportation protocols.
- Safety First: Swiftly respond to inappropriate and unsafe behaviors following established procedures. Additionally, handle minor injuries and illnesses per standing orders.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Effective communication and active listening skills.
- Strong organizational abilities and attention to detail.
- Capability to provide direction, coaching, and constructive feedback to youth.
- Proficient in safely managing outdoor activities and adventures.
QUALIFICATIONS
- At least 19 years old
- At least one year of college-study or work experience

Pay: From $1,300.00 per month
