What are the responsibilities and job description for the Metal Finish/Panel Clean- 2nd Shift position at C5ISR (Gichner Systems Group, Inc.)?
GENERAL JOB SUMMARY:
Assist in performing straightforward operations including panel preparation, sand blasting and metal spraying.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Receive verbal/written instructions on parts/panels to be cleaned/sprayed.
- Remove adhesive from bonded panels using grinders and sanders.
- Mask and cover panel sections in preparation for spraying.
- Assist in the touch up of improperly sprayed panels/pieces.
- Change oxygen acetylene bottles as necessary.
- Move material, parts, and assemblies; load and unload; clean and sweep; help operators and assemblers to lift, position and handle material; other assigned tasks as necessary.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Required Experience:
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
- Ability to maintain sensitive and confidential information as required by government standards.

- Ability to adhere to workplace rules.
- Ability to communicate clearly with others, (verbally and in written form).
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 6 months experience in a shop environment.
- Basic computer skills required.
- Must pass Pulmonary Function Test.
- Must be able to operate a hand truck.
- Familiarity with the following machines: Sand Blasting, metal sprayer, hood & filter.
WORK ENVIROMENT / PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Shop Floor environment.
- Ability to stand and sit for long periods of time.
- Ability to perform repetitive motion (rotating wrists, keyboarding, using small/large tools).
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to tolerate constant noise (i.e.: machine motors).
- Ability to work safely in the presence of hazardous chemicals and hazardous conditions.
- Ability to follow standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
