C5T is currently seeking a Software Engineer (Mid-Level) for a challenging position as part of the large team supporting the Single Mobility System (SMS), which is USTRANSCOM's primary Command and Control (C2) system used to view requirements, plan missions, and track execution. The selected candidate will possess appreciable experience developing web applications and applying their skills across various types of work assignments. Assignments in this position may be broad in nature, requiring originality and innovation in determining how to accomplish tasks. This position operates with appreciable latitude in developing methodology and presenting solutions to problems and contributes to deliverables and performance metrics.
Responsibilities include (but are not limited to) the following:
- Designing, developing, coordinating, and maintaining all aspects of the delivery of solutions for an established mobility system.
- Partnering with the stakeholders to achieve mission priorities through innovation critical thinking, collaboration, and proactive risk management.
- Providing end-to-end support on software development projects.
- Monitoring and tuning software solutions on a regular basis to identify and remedy issues.
- Developing, implementing, and testing software solutions.
- Partnering with customers to gather requirements through understanding of customer users' data/analytics needs and challenges.
- Maintaining and ensuring availability of software across multiple production and development environments.
- Maintaining security and integrity controls and formulating policies, procedures, and standards relating to software development.
- Supporting the implementation of all required security updates as directed by applicable STIGs.
- Proactively identifying and communicating issues, risks, progress to customer, contractor team, and IT stakeholders, providing options and next steps.
- Developing and updating informal and formal documentation and software architecture products.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a Computer Science, Information Technology or other relevant field. Experience in lieu of education will be considered.
- Five or more years of work experience in complex systems design, programming and systems software and support
- Java, C#/or C , JavaScript/HTML5 Framework (EXT/JS, Angular, React)
- Oracle (12g, 19C), TOADx, and PL-SQL
- SQL Server 2012, 2019, or 2022 and SSMS
- Web services (WDSLs, schemas, XSDs, XML, REST API, JSON)
- Basic understanding of web-based accessibility and Section 508 compliance Strong understanding of software development lifecycle practices and secure software development
- Superior customer service
- Strong communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills in a dynamic customer centric environment
- Highly motivated and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment

- Work is remote, but candidates local to the Scott AFB/St. Louis area preferred; strong remote candidates will be given consideration
- Secret Level Security Clearance - The applicant selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
- US Citizenship/Work Eligibility: This position requires a candidate who is either a current US Citizen or has appropriate paperwork to show eligibility for full-time work in the US.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Security CE or other DoD 8570 IAT Level II satisfying certification
- Previous experience supporting Cyber Security Mitigation
- Experience contributing as part of an Agile development team
- Red Hat Linux
- Experience developing in a cloud environment (AWS a plus)
- Knowledge of Perl
- .NET 6.x( ) (.NET Coré a plus)
- Apache Tomcat
- Apache 2.4
- IIS 10
- Exposure to Sencha with Sencha development experience a plus
- Experience with Docker containers and microservices in the Cloud is a plus.
- Prior SMS/CMS or DoD logistics systems experience
