A Business Taxes Compliance Specialist in the Program Administration Branch is responsible for special projects, performing advanced, specialized, and technical tax compliance duties related to tax policy implementation, taxpayer education, program administration, and regulatory compliance under the Business Taxes Administrator II. In doing this, the incumbent:
  • Develops and maintains taxpayer-facing instructional materials, including how-to-file return tutorials, ensuring alignment with state tax laws, regulatory changes, and filing requirements across multiple tax and fee programs.
  • Accesses department’s system to verify online functionalities design and processes. Develops and reviews electronic materials for department’s clearance process.
  • Conducts complex tax analysis to support the preparation of budget change proposals, ensuring accurate forecasting of revenue impacts and compliance with tax policy objectives.
  • Serves as the lead web content coordinator for tax and fee programs, ensuring technical accuracy and regulatory compliance of public-facing tax guidance, publications, and online resources.
  • Acts as the lead accessibility coordinator ensuring digital tax content complies with Web Content Accessibility guidelines to support taxpayer access and equity.
  • Monitors, analyzes, and reconciles budget allocations for tax and fee programs, identifying expenditure trends and compliance risks that may impact program funding.

Working in the Program Administration Branch provides team members the opportunity to work on all aspects of our tax and fee programs and works cooperatively with all areas in the agency. Working in the branch also exposes team members to our revenue system, registration process, return process, compliance functions, appeal process, audit process, other agencies, and all levels of our agency’s management team.
Telework is partially available for this position.
