What are the responsibilities and job description for the Chief of Infrastructure Maintenance position at CA High Speed Rail Authority?
Under the administrative direction of California High-Speed Rail Authority’s (Authority) Chief Executive Officer (CEO), the Chief of Infrastructure Maintenance oversees the maintenance and preservation of the Authority’s infrastructure assets, such as high-speed rail (HSR) guideways, bridges, buildings, and structures. This includes ensuring protection, upkeep, and restoration of HSR infrastructure assets, in the condition which they were constructed in, with attention to structural integrity, security, and conservation. The Chief of Infrastructure Maintenance also oversees the operation of rail facilities and services to provide satisfactory and safe HSR transportation. In addition, the Chief of Infrastructure Maintenance will develop an Asset and Maintenance Strategic Plan, in coordination with the Construction and Rail Operations Offices.
This position is appointed by the Governor. - Experience advising executive level management on maintenance-related matters.
- Experience acting as a representative on behalf a department or organization during meetings with external stakeholders and controlling agencies.
- Knowledge of applicable safety and performance standards and guidelines related to infrastructure asset maintenance.
- Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing with all levels of management, employees, and external stakeholders.
- Ability to exercise good judgment and calm professionalism in all situations.

Location
The High-Speed Rail Authority headquarters building is located in downtown Sacramento on the corner of 8th and L Street. We are located one block away from the 8th and Capitol light rail stop, as well as the 7th and Capitol light rail stop. The building is also within walking distance of DOCO, the California State Capitol Park, a farmer’s market during summer months, and Old Sacramento.
