Communication and Social Skills Trainer in Oceanside

CA Independent Living (License Number: HQ 1884) exclusively works with the City of San Diego and is currently seeking trainers and coaches with strong communication and social skills to join our team immediately. The role involves working with adults with developmental disabilities in their homes throughout San Diego County to enhance their day-to-day living skills.

You Will Start As Part Time:

For this position, you will initially start as a part-time worker and transition into a full-time position. Typically, we will start by assigning you 1-3 clients, requiring approximately 3-15 hours per week or 12 to 60 hours per month. Later, within a few weeks, you can request to handle more clients until you reach a full-time workload of 40 hours per week.

No Prior Experience Needed:

We provide complete training and you get paid while you learn and prepare to train our clients.

Flexible Hours:

We will schedule your first two appointments. Afterward, you will have the flexibility to set your own hours and days with the assigned clients.

Responsibilities:

• You will NOT be responsible for any hands-on support tasks, such as toileting, feeding clients, or cleaning
• Provide training and coaching to enhance communication skills, both online (social media) and in various local community activities
• Provide training on regular day-to-day living activities
• Must be able to Read and Write English

Requirements:

• Must live in or close to San Marcos or Vista
• High school graduate required, but college graduate preferred
• Valid CA driver's license and car insurance
• CPR/First Aid Certification
